Robert J. "Bob" Walton, a cherished husband, father, brother, grandpa, pastor, and friend. He passed away on November 24, 2021. He was born to the late Albert and Diane Walton on May 18, 1965, in Denver, Colorado. Bob graduated from Wheat Ridge High School, got a baseball scholarship and ended up completing his bachelor's degree in Corporate Finance and Accounting from Metropolitan State University of Denver. He then accomplished his master's degree in Theology and Doctorate in Education from Pensacola Christian College. He married Tonia Walton in 1990, and they had two wonderful children who they raised together through many adventures.
Bob began his career as a Senior Auditor at Colorado BanCorp while continuing his education. Once he completed his master's, Bob became a youth pastor at Calvary Baptist Church in 1996. He mentored many students and shared the love of Christ through his positive spirit and impactful teachings. Bob co-founded Spread Truth Ministries which educates followers of Christ about evangelism, and then sends them to areas all throughout the country to spread the gospel. Bob took several trips to New York City and touched many lives through his outreach. Bob was most well-known for his career as a State Farm Insurance Agent in Loveland, Colorado where he grew a successful business.
Bob is survived by his two children Ariel and Austin Walton, his daughter-in-law Emily Walton, and his brother Bruce (Sherri) Walton. He is also survived by his two treasured grandsons, Damon and Hudson, who he loved deeply.
Bob will be remembered by his ability to grow intentional relationships with people. He could start a conversation with anyone and knew how to make others feel loved. His favorite pastime was watching the New York Yankees with Ariel and Austin, playing golf, and fishing with his dad. Bob's most important characteristic that he will be remembered by is his deep relationship with the Lord and his passion for leading others to Christ- a "good and faithful servant". Bob will be greatly missed by his family, but he is rejoicing in Heaven with his wife, father, and mother.
The funeral will be held at Beth Eden Baptist Church on December 18, 2021. The viewing will precede the funeral at 10:00 am, and the funeral will begin at 11:00 am. Proceeding the funeral, there will be a short memorial at the Olinger Cemetery- Crown Hill. After the funeral and memorial, there will be light refreshments at Beth Eden Baptist Church.
