Rodger E. Eberhard

February 5, 1931 — March 11, 2020

Rodger E. Eberhard

Born February 5, 1931 in Hampton Nebraska to Carl & Ellisabeth Eberhard. They were a hard-working farming family until they moved to Denver when he was twelve years old. He attended Lutheran schools until High School. He graduated from North High School in 1950. He was served in the Army from February 1952 to May of 1953.

He was a faithful servant of God and was a Lutheran his entire life.

He married Wanda Fries in 1954 to 1983 when she passed away. They had a son Rick Robert Eberhard and daughter Vicki Eberhard, grandchildren, Jason, Raymond, Tannis and Christopher, great grandchildren Corbin, Mercury, Topaz, Nicholas, Aubry, Blaize and Julie.

He was blessed to have found a beautiful lady Phyllis Lunde-Brees and they married in 1991 and happily married until her passing in 2010. He was blessed with a new family that loved and cared for him from beginning to the end. Phyllis and her family, children, Gary, Bonnie, Devon & Mike. Grandchildren, Kris, Kelly, Greg and Mark, great grandchildren, Lindsey, Joe, Aubrey, Kayla, Scott, Sarah and several
Great Great children. The family took Rodger in with open arms continuously loved and supported him.

He was a machinist at Sundstrand Aviation for 36 years when he retired. He then took ski and golf lessons and off he went. He loved the mountains, camping, skiing, golf and the Denver Bronco's and above all family time.

Rodger always met everyone with the most beautiful sincere smile. He never had to say a word about his life, he showed the world who he was by the example of the way he lived his life and that smile said it all. Never an unkind word said. Everyone revered him as one of the kindest, gentlest happiest people they knew. He touched and influenced many without ever saying a word. Everyone he knew, knew what kind of people they wanted to become, to be as loving and kind as him.

He will be missed by all and will forever live in our hearts and minds.

The family wishes to thank the very special people in his life that cared for him and prayed for, and with him. Special thanks to Leo, the best caregiver he could ask for, Home Helpers, neighbors and friends, Irene and Steve, the other neighbors who always loved seeing him out and about, the Compassus Hospice team, meals on wheels and his church family at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church.
