Ronald Bruce Flom

Ronald Bruce Flom, 77, of Lakewood, passed away April 5, 2023.
He was born August 20, 1945, in Crookston, MN, the son of Ray and Doris (Simmons) Flom.
Ron married the late Linda Ramey on October 4, 1984, and they lived together in Lakewood.

Ron served as a proud member of the U.S. Navy, as a Data Systems Technician, First Class,
during the Vietnam War, serving from 1967 through 1973, earning the First Good Conduct
Medal and National Defense Service Medal.

Following his service, Ron began a long career working in the burging field of telecommunications as an early operator of complex computer systems. His career took him from Bell Systems, Mountain Bell, AT&T,
Lucent Technologies,and finally retiring from Comcast in 2018.

Ron loved photography, mountain and lake adventures, reading historical fiction, and he had a
passion for trains and tractors, both real and miniature. Ron was a loving and devoted
husband. He and his wife spent many joyful years raising their "kids" and "fur-babies." They
were lifelong animal lovers. Ron was a caring uncle and great-uncle who enjoyed being part of
his nieces' and nephews' achievements, as well as their antics.

Ron is survived by his brother Alan (Sandy) Flom; sister-in-law Peggy Dindinger; six nieces and
nephews: Melissa Murphy, Sarah Barstow, Amanda Germano, Eric Flom, Elizabeth Merritts, and Austin Prather. Ron is preceded in death by his Parents, Ray and Doris Flom, Brother David Simmons Flom, and his wife Linda Lee Flom.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the Foothills Animal
Shelter , 580 McIntyre Street, Golden CO 80401.
