Ronald Niels Sorensen, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully December 18, 2024, in Denver, Colorado, at the age of 87. Born on November 13, 1937, in Fremont, Nebraska, Ronald lived a life filled with kindness, generosity, and a profound love for his family.
Ronald was known for his mellow demeanor and easy-going nature. He had a warm and genuine spirit that touched the lives of all who knew him. Throughout his journey, he displayed qualities of strength, sincerity, and a giving heart. Whether he was tending to his beloved garden, basking in the sun, or creating beautiful moments with his family, Ronald’s joy in simple pleasures made those around him feel loved and cherished.
A proud graduate from Idaho State University with a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Ronald dedicated himself not only to his education but also to serving his country. He retired from the United States Navy, an accomplishment he held dear as a testament to his dedication and commitment to his nation.
In addition to his military service, Ronald enjoyed a variety of hobbies. He found delight in gardening, spending hours nurturing his yard, surrounded by the beauty of nature. He relished quiet time listening to classical music and enjoyed the mental challenge of playing sudoku, often seen contemplating his next move with an engaging smile.
Ronald's greatest joy came from his role as a family man. He is survived by his loving wife, Judy, who stood by his side through every season of life. Together, they created a legacy of love that resonates through their family: with his son Steven, daughters Sherrin and Sue Ann (John), and step-son John (Laura). He took immense pride in his grandchildren, Alexandria (Kyle), Tori, Sydney, Carissa, Conner, and Walker, who were the light of his life, bringing laughter and warmth to his days.
Ronald was predeceased by his amazing parents, Viggo and Sylvia, as well as his step-son Charles, who remain in the hearts of those who knew them.
