Rosann (Berasi) Szalach was born in Niagara Falls, New York on July 12, 1959 to the late George and Madelyn (Nemetz) Berasi. She attended school in Niagara Falls where she graduated from LaSalle Senior High School in 1977.
A military wife for 19 years, she was beloved by all as a warm and generous supporter of troops – often opening her home to those without family during the holidays. After her husband's military retirement, she became administrator and part owner of her family's facilities maintenance business.
Rosann loved spending time with her family and pets, especially her two granddaughters. She was on dialysis for 28 years, and despite her challenges with kidney disease, she never complained and always found reasons to smile, laugh, and celebrate life.
She was known by all as a compassionate, caring, selfless person – continually serving the needs of others before her own. Rosann enjoyed playing word games, gardening, relaxing on her outdoor swing, listening to music, and watching her favorite television shows.
Rosann entered into rest on May 23, 2020, and is survived by her husband of 41 years Bill Szalach with whom she never went to bed without an "I love you" and a kiss, daughter Kristina (Adam Miller) Stiltner, son Tony (Kelly) Szalach, brother Charles (Richard Carlisle) Berasi, and two granddaughters Caitlin Stiltner and Alexis Szalach. She was predeceased by both parents, her two sisters, Florence and Patricia, and her niece Alicia.
Rosann's family would like to extend a sincere thank you to all of the technicians, nurses, and doctors who cared for her over the years.
