Rose Marie Dixon

November 15, 1950 — September 19, 2021

Rose Marie or 'Marie', as she is most affectionately to the late Ella Louise Lacey and Harvey Nichols. Marie was reared by her grandparents, Elder Silas Oliver, Sr. and Beatrice Oliver.
Upon graduation from Union Academy High School in Bartow, FL, Marie moved to Rochester, NY, where she attended Monroe Community College and SUNY Brockport. She began her career with Eastman Kodak for 19 years after which she was employed by TTEC of Englewood, CO for 27 years.
Marie was reared in the Church of God where she often sang with the choir. Shortly after moving to Denver, Marie became a member of the Happy Church where she served along with her husband Carl at the Greeter and Information Center for several years. It was at the Happy Church where she met and married Carl Dixon in September 1995. Marie and Carl have been members of that fellowship since joining.
Marie loved to shop and travel. After leaving Florida, she traveled abroad to France, Spain, and Korea while also cruising to several islands. Her Courage, Faith, and Persistence were just a few of her virtues. She was blessed to not have pain associated with her journey through cancer and that was truly a blessing. Her doctors called her their 'Miracle Cancer Patient'. Marie remained positive and hardly ever complained except to say that she was sometimes tired.
Marie was diagnosed with cancer about 16 years ago. She and Carl fought a valiant battle of faith, along with their Happy Church family and their many prayer warriors and friends. After many years of surviving cancer she was given her release and promotion on September 19, 2021 peacefully at home.
Marie leaves to cherish her memory: a loving and devoted husband, Carl; father, Harvey Nichols, Tampa FL; two brothers, Freddie Lee Nichols, Alexa St. Julian, Houston, TX; two uncles, Pastor Silas Oliver, Jr. (Vernetta), Richmond, VA and Robert Lee Oliver (Rose), Avon Park, FL; a special aunt Kinnus Vincent Paul, Orlando, FL; two step-children, Jamil Dixon, Denver, CO and Yakini Dixon, Augusta, GA; and host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, her aunt Ida Mae Paul and her grandparents. We praise God for this significant member of our family.
