Roy Russell Kile

November 26, 1933 — January 18, 2025

Lakewood

Roy Russell Kile, a devoted husband, loving father, and talented auto mechanic, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2025, at the age of 91. Born on November 26, 1933, Roy lived a life filled with adventure, dedication, and unwavering loyalty to his loved ones and community.

Roy's remarkable career as an auto mechanic began with his meticulous approach to solving mechanical problems—a skill that he honed over many years and one that many came to rely on. His dedication to his craft was matched only by his love for working with his hands and the joys of tinkering with cars. A spirited jokester at heart, he was known for his stubbornness and good sense of humor that often brought smiles to those around him. He was a true friend, always there to lend a helping hand, and his patriotism shone through in all he did.

In addition to his successful career, Roy had an adventurous spirit that took him overseas. He lived in Saudi Arabia for nine years, where he worked for Saudi Airlines. These years abroad only added to his rich tapestry of memories, filled with stories of exploration and cultural experiences. A proud veteran, he served in the Navy as a submarine mechanic, a role that showcased his exceptional mechanical skills and dedication to his country.

Roy was not only passionate about his career but also cherished the time spent cultivating his hobbies. He loved to hunt, hike, and fish, often losing himself in the beauty of the mountains. Scrapbooking cars was a particular passion that allowed him to merge his love for mechanics with creativity. His interests reflected the essence of who he was—a person who embraced life's adventures while crafting lasting memories.

Roy's proudest accomplishment was undoubtedly the family he raised and cherished dearly. He shared a loving 69-year marriage with his beloved wife, Diane, who stood by him through every season of life. Together, they nurtured their son Chris and daughter Susan, imparting values of loyalty, hard work, and love. The family continued to grow with four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, each continuing the legacy of kindness and laughter that Roy instilled in them.

Though Roy now joins his parents, Russell and Gladys, and his six brothers in eternal rest, his spirit will forever live on in the hearts of his family and friends. To know Roy was to appreciate a man whose laughter and love filled the room. His legacy is one of loyalty, humor, and profound affection for those fortunate enough to have known him.

A viewing will take place on January 30, 2025, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Lakewood, Colorado, followed by a funeral service.
