Roy Temmer, 98, of Denver, passed away April 3, 2010, after a short illness. The Denver native was born Feb. 24, 1912, and graduated from Manual High School in 1931. He was a member of the school's Swinging '30s alumni group. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Pacific Theater, primarily the Philippines and New Guinea. On Feb. 14, 1946, he married Elsie Domka in Denver. She preceded him in death. They had three daughters: Jeanette (Leo) Chavez of Littleton, Virginia Temmer of Littleton and Beverly Temmer of Seattle, WA. He was an auto mechanic for the U.S. Postal Service. He was a lifetime member of the Rose Hill Grange. In addition to his daughters, he is survived by six grandchildren: Robyn Axberg of Chicago, Chris Breggin of Denver, Laura Chavez of Pleasanton, CA., Stephanie Chavez of Las Vegas, and Kevin and Michelle Temmer of Littleton. There will be a viewing Thursday, April 8, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 901 S. Sheridan Blvd. The funeral service will be at 9 a.m. Friday, April 9, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Fort Logan National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Denver Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
