Ruben A Pacheco, 70, of Lakewood, Colorado went to be with the Lord on October 26, 2022. He was born on January 21, 1952, in Denver, Colorado. He is survived by daughters Maria (Jason) Millage, Maudra (Kevin) Dickerson, and son Ruben Pacheco II. He is also survived by his sister Josephine Padilla, and brothers Eligio and Ben Pacheco.
Ruben was a proud grandfather of 5 children: Shayn, Justin, Addison, Jackson, and Genesis. He loved his grandchildren immensely and loved spending time with all of them. Anyone having a conversation with him would quickly learn that his grandchildren were his pride and joy.
Ruben served honorably in the Army, achieving the rank of Sergeant. He also supported veterans' groups and causes throughout his life. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 21 and VFW Post 4171. Within these two organizations, he held various positions such as Commander, Chaplain, and Finance Officer. He had a love for his country and profound respect for those who served and sacrificed for our freedoms.
Ruben loved to read the Bible and had a strong faith in God. He always had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to laugh. He was kind, outgoing, and always knew how to make friendly conversation. He never forgot a name or face. He was a wonderful father, brother, and friend. He will forever be loved and will be missed dearly.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Ruben's memory may be made to American Legion Post 21, 500 9th Street, Golden, CO 80401.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, November 21, 2022, at 11:00 am at Jefferson Avenue United Methodist Church, 4425 Kipling Street, Wheat Ridge, Colorado 80033.
Graveside service will follow at 1:30 pm at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 3698 S. Sheridan Blvd. - Denver, Colorado 80235. Family and Friends are asked to meet at Staging Area "B" at 1:15 pm.
A Celebration of Life gathering will be held after services at American Legion Post 21, 500 9th Street, Golden, CO 80401.
