It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Russ Calvin Simpson, on April 19th, 2024, at the age of 78. Russ was born in Monroe, Louisiana, on October 20, 1945, to George Ella Norman and Russell Simpson. He was preceded in death by his parents and beloved wife Gerri Rowe Simpson.

Russ always said, we are not human beings having a spiritual experience, but spiritual beings having a human experience. His spirit has moved to the next level of existence, and we are left to remember. He was a student of life, who believed in the goodness of man, but still viewed the world without rose colored glasses. He lived with honor and integrity. He was a great husband and father and loved his family. He loved LOVE and loving and being loved. He enjoyed reading, tennis, working, gardening, and cooking among many other things. He lived a happy and fortunate life. He had a classic car he loved showing at car shows. He was loved by his family, workers, neighbors, and will be missed greatly.

Life Accomplishments:
Russ graduated Carroll High School in Monroe, LA, and received a Master of Divinity Degree from Wiley College in Marshall, TX. He graduated Summa Cum Laude in 1967, as a Wildcat.
Russ was also briefly a member of Black Panther Party; and he was a Methodist Minister.
He was also an insurance agent with Allstate Insurance. Then, he worked with Martin Marietta Development Team, wherein he received many accolades. Russ was an entrepreneur and developed RCS Enterprises for many lucrative years as a telephone and utilities auditor. Finally, in his late 70’s, he still worked full time as a Macy’s Associate.
Russ had a great work ethic and enjoyed working and lived his life to the fullest.
