Ruth Styer Collenberger, 94, died June 11, 2005 at home in Dacono. She had been a Dacono resident since 2000, having moved from Boulder, where she lived from 1959 to 2000. She was born June 12, 1910 to the Rev. George and Mrs. Florence Styer in Kimberton, PA. She grew up in Pennsylvania, Ohio,, Kansas and Illinois. She attended Knox College and Eastern Illinois College. She married Delmar James Collenberger October 6, 1934. They lived in Stonington, IL, until moving to Boulder. Mrs. Collenberger was a self-employed hat designer who also taught the art of millinery. She created many unique hat designs, and had a talent for clothing design, needlecraft and interior design. In Illinois, she owned and operated a gift and jewelry store. In Boulder, she and Mr. Collenberger owned and operated a children's clothing store for many years. She was a knowledgeable antiques and glassware collector and enjoyed discussing politics and world affairs, and stayed informed on current events until shortly before her death. She had a lifelong love of reading, with particular interests in history and Christianity. She is survived by a son Garrett Collenberger of Dacono, and a daughter, Georgia Bargmann of Houston, TX. She also is survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A Funeral Service is scheduled for Wednesday, 1 PM, at Grace Lutheran Church in Boulder, CO. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Boulder.
