Ruth E. Hutchinson

Ruthie was born July 25, 1924, at the family home at 52nd and Lewis Lane in Wheatridge, Colorado to Hazel and Martin Monson. She was the youngest of six siblings, Dorothy, Robert, Earl, Joe and Billy. She attended Fruitdale Grade School and Arvada High School, graduating eighth in her class of sixty-nine in 1942. In December of 1942, she married Kenny Hutchinson and they celebrated their seventy-fifth anniversary this past December, while knowing each other for seventy-nine years this month. This was the start of a very special relationship.
Ruthie's Aunt Ruth took her to Sunday school as soon as she could walk the 1 1/2 miles to Fruitdale Baptist Church at 44th and Miller. She accepted the Lord when she was 12 years old and was an active member of that church for fifty-one years until Ken and Ruth moved to Bailey, Colorado. She loved to teach Sunday School, Bible School, Mission Circle work and Visiting Committees. When her daughter, Arna started in 4H she became a leader teaching classes in sewing, cooking and home decorating. In her spare time she gardened, refinished antique furniture, painted pictures and found time to entertain her two grandchildren Jeremy and Sara. She was just a plain GOOD person.
