Ruth V.(Walker) Smith

Age 84, of Denver, Colorado, peacefully went to be with the Lord, August, 5, 2009. She was born March 15, 1925 in Orlando, Florida to Sessler and Viola (Gibson) Walker, pioneers of Orlando, Florida. Ruth was the 2nd of 6 children. She married Doyle W. Smith, Feb 5, 1941. She had her first child, Ruth in Dec. 1941. Her son, Raymond T. was born in July 1950. Ruth was a dedicated wife and mother, a great home maker and cook. Her strong Christian beliefs were evident in her goodness, and kindness towards others. She loved her church family, and enjoyed singing in the choir. Ruth also loved God's creation, the animals, plants, and nature in general. Last Mother's day, she spent a delightful week in Estes Park, CO enjoying the wilderness.

She is survived by her daughter: Ruth Woods and significant other, Tom; son: Raymond and wife Shelley; sisters: Viola Schou; brother: Mickey and wife Lee Walker; grandchildren; Johanna; Raymond Tommy, Jr.; great grandchildren: Taryance; Jade; Brittney; Trevor; and many other cherished family members in the Orlando, FL area. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Doyle; sisters: Vera; Irene; brother: Sonny.
