Ryan Knops, 25, of Idaho Springs, Colorado, died peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, December 13, 2018.
Ryan was born in St. Louis, Missouri and raised in Overland Park, Kansas. He was a graduate of Shawnee Mission East High School and attended the University of Kansas.
He is survived by his mother, Elizabeth Jones Knops, his father, Peter Knops, stepmother Barbara Dresser Knops, his sister Anneke, his brothers Ben and Nate, his grandparents, Fransje and Jack Knops, his step-grandparents Dede and Guy Dresser.
Ryan was intelligent and open-minded; he loved to skateboard, snowboard and travel. But most noticeable was his unfailing kindness to people and to animals, including most recently his beloved rescue dog Stella, who was lying beside him at the end. The legacy of his kindness lives on in his family and in the many lives he touched.
