Ryan, 63, of Aurora, Colorado, passed away peacefully on January 31st, 2025, surrounded by his family. Ryan was born to Harold and Alma Townsend on January 19, 1962 in Fort Knox, KY. He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Gloria. He is survived by wife Vicki, daughters Nicole (son-in-law, Grant) and Sarah (son-in-law, Michael), son Brandon (partner, Michael), granddaughter Kayla, grandson Joshua, and brother, Hal (Sister-in-law, Deana).
Ryan grew up in a military family, lived in Alaska, and then settled in Colorado in the late 1960s. He attended Central High School and later met his wife, Vicki. Ryan and Vicki dated for 3 years before getting married on November 30th, 1984 and started their family 3 years later.
Ryan worked hard throughout his life as a mechanic, security guard, and production manager. He had a passion for camping, barbecuing hamburgers, target shooting, and later in life you could always catch him in his chair watching M.A.S.H or NCIS. He could often be found playing with his dogs or sharing jokes with his grandchildren, filling the air with laughter and joy.
Ryan was always a hard working and caring man who devoted his life to his family, friends, and the community.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday February 8, 2025 at Newcomer Funeral Home in Aurora at 10am. A burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery at 12pm. In honor of Ryan, please wear jeans. He was a simple, southern man who loved comfort. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association or the Denver Dumb Friends League.
