Salvador Hernandez, Sr.

September 30, 1944 — May 1, 2019

Salvador (Chava) Hernandez, Sr. passed away peacefully at home on May 1, 2019 in Aurora, Colorado at the age of 74.

Salvador Hernandez is survived by his wife Sylvia of Denver, Co, his son's Salvador Jr. of Johnsburg, IL, Jeremy of Phoenix, AZ, and David of Highland Village, TX. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Noe, Isaias, Jerimiah, Felipe, Sisters Pualina, and Bertha of Mexico, Texas, and Illinois.

Salvador was born on September 30, 1944 in City Anahuac, Nuevo Leon, Mexico to the parents of Samuel and Alicia de Hernandez. He graduated from high school in 1962. He married Sylvia a high school student in 1969. They had a great marriage of two imperfect people who refused to give up on each other. After moving to Arlington Heights, IL, Salvador began working for multiple companies as a laborer. Over the period of 7 years the couple welcomed 3 children into their home and Salvador set about teaching them the word of God and how to endure life. His children remember him as a patient father who encouraged them to pursue their goals.

Salvador was accomplished as a diesel mechanic, electrician, construction worker and often entrepreneur. He was a generous, witty, dedicated individual who loved God and who was passionate and proud about his family. He was an active and dedicated member of the Church and often volunteered to teach God's word. A quote that best describes Salvador's life;

"God looked around his garden and he found an empty place. He then looked down upon this earth and saw your tired face. He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest. God's garden must be beautiful HE always takes the best. He knew that you were suffering, He knew you were in pain, He knew that you would never get well on earth again. He saw the road was getting rough, and the mountains were hard to climb. So, he closed your weary eyelids, and whispered "PEACE BE THINE". It broke our hearts to lose you, the day GOD called you home." (Author Unknown)

Out of respect for Salvador's wishes, no funeral will be held. Salvador's wife and children understand that this may disappoint family and friends. Salvador's expressed wishes is for everyone to know that he has passed on to be with the lord, not to be sad and remember the joy for the lord that shown in all his interactions with each of you.
