Sam Schwab, 92, former resident of Brighton, died at his home in Wheat Ridge on Jan, 25th 2010. Sam was born on July, 13th 1917 in Eaton, Colorado to Jacob and Elizabeth Schwab. Later moving to Brighton where Sam lived on the family farm near Van Air. After serving in the United States Army Medical Corp and leaving as a medical Staff Sarget he returned and later purchased some land 3 miles east of Brighton on HWY 7. Which he sold in Oct. 2005 and moved to his other home in Wheat Ridge, where he and his wife Brenda lived for 29 ½ years.
Sam loved his horses and roping days. He was also active in Adams County Sheriffs Pose, the Adams County Fairboard and City Council of Brighton. His occupation for 50 years until the age of 80 was Barbering at his shop "The Thornton Barber Shop" located in Thornton Colorado. Sam was a Christian man who believed in showing it more through his actions than just by talking a good talk.
Sam is survived by his beloved wife Brenda Schwab of Wheat Ridge, Brother William Schwab (Helen) of Brighton, Sister Ruth Wanke (Herb) of Montana, Sister Irene Golder of Montana. Two daughters Sandy Purdy (Dale) of Agate, and Jan Miles of Brighton. Four grandchildren Doug Purdy (Robin) great-grandchildren Tae'lor and Bay'lee. Jamie Langlois (Rick), Carrie Veatch (Casey) great-grandchildren Leo and Macy Mae. And Joel Miles (Kelly) great-grandchildren Ally, Austin and Ace. And many nieces, nephews and cousins in Germany.
Sam is preceded into death by his parents Jacob and Elizabeth Schwab, brother Ben Schwab, brother Carl Schwab, sister Marie Bernhardt, brother Herman Schwab, and sister Elizabeth White.
