Sandra C. Hunter, 80, of Lakewood, passed away on July 2, 2023.
Sandra "Sandy" was born on November 18, 1942 in Miami, FL, the youngest daughter of Marjorie and Jack Cooley. She had an older sister and brother. She graduated from Jackson High School in1960 . She was a cheerleader and loved outdoor sports and archery.
After graduation she went to work for the telephone company were she held several jobs.
She transferred to Denver (MTN Bell) (U.S. West) Quest and finally Century Link where she retired after 28 years.
Her hobbies included flower arranging, stained glass, collecting dolls and gardening. These were among few of her interests.
In 1965 She married Richard Hunter. He survives along with their two children Kelly and Daryl. She is also survived by a brother George and his wife of Orlando, FL, a cousin in Homestead, FL, as well as nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
She will be missed by her family. She will be remembered for her good nature, good attitude and her willingness to help others.
She has left us to be with God and her family forever.
There are no services planned for Mrs. Hunter at this time. The family request any sympathy donations to please be sent to the American Cancer Society.
