Sandra (Sandy) Jo Brandhorst

Sandra (Sandy) Jo Brandhorst December 29, 1938 – February 5, 2025

Sandy Brandhorst, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away on February 5, 2025, at the age of 86.

Sandy was born to the late Byron and Inez (Starr) Graham on December 29, 1938. She married Wayne Brandhorst (October 2012) on July 28, 1966, and they shared many cherished memories. Together they had two loving sons, Eric and Rob. Sandy is survived by Eric and Rob with spouse, Jennifer; her sisters, Rita and Ruth; and five adoring grandchildren, Whitney, Weston, Jaxson, Slater, and Lexie, who lovingly called her "Oma."

Sandy’s bond with her family was unshakable, and she found immense joy in spending time with them, creating moments filled with love and laughter. As a proud Oma, she took great joy in teaching the grandchildren about cooking and sewing, and hearing about each of their accomplishments. 

A proud graduate of Arvada High School, Sandy went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Business Education from the University of Denver. She worked as an administrative assistant to the Humphreys of Denver, where she was known for her dedication and attention to detail.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Sandy found great joy in the simple pleasures of life. She had a deep love for flowers, especially the Iris in spring, and she delighted in watching her Lilacs and Roses bloom each year. Sandy was also known for her deep love of animals, especially her dogs. Each of her dogs proudly stood at the front window, guarding the neighborhood with devotion and loyalty, most of which were adopted from the Denver Dumb Friends League. She smiled and laughed that each dog stood at the window and had a picture of each taking their turn.

Her family and friends will always remember her for her kindness, gentle spirit, and unwavering support.

A service will be held on Wednesday, April 30th, 2025 at Fort Logan Cemetery, at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Sandy’s memory to the Denver Dumb Friends League.

Sandy’s legacy will live on in the hearts of those who loved her, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
