Sara Elizabeth Broberg, 84, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2024. Born on August 10, 1940 in Colorado Springs, Sara was the heart and soul of her family, known for her welcoming demeanor and infectious laughter.
While growing up in Colorado Springs, Sara met John, the love of her life, at their church youth group. During their 56 years together, they lived in Colorado and Alaska with their three children. While she was a proud Coloradan, Alaska and the strong bonds created while living there always held a very special place in her heart.
In addition to being a devoted and supportive mother and grandmother, Sara has always been very involved with her church. She was a charter member of Faith Presbyterian Church in Aurora and was active in numerous groups at the church. She also proudly worked for Hallmark for over 30 years which ignited a love for Hallmark that followed her for life. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi for many years, through which she made numerous lifelong friendships. She greatly enjoyed socializing with friends and family, traveling (particularly cruises), gardening, baking (she made great cookies), and watching NASCAR.
Sara made friends easily, was quick to open her home to anyone in need, and remained closely connected to her friends, family, church and neighbors. She had countless friends who became as close as family. She will be immensely missed by all those whose lives she touched.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Grace Dodson, her beloved husband, John Broberg, and her brother, James Dodson.
She is survived by her children, David Broberg of Aurora, Colorado, Lisa Broberg Pate of Murphy, Texas, and Susie Broberg (Daniel) of Los Angeles, California, and three grandchildren, Ashlan Pate, Bailee Pate, and Caly Pate. Her love and spirit will live on in our hearts
