Sara Keziah Clark Davies Switzer

July 28, 1925 — February 26, 2023

Sarah Keziah Clark Davies Switzer, Kay, was born July 28, 1925 and went home to the loving arms of her Lord and Savior on February 26, 2023. She was born in South Wales, Great Britain, where music is akin to breathing. She spent her formative years there and then, with her beloved Mama and Papa and siblings moved to England. Kay and her family survived WWII, many days and nights in a bomb shelter with bombs exploding overhead.

She met and married Weber Switzer, an American soldier stationed in England. Along with their daughters, Sandra, Christine, Diana and Linda. Home was spent between England and America, eventually making Illinois their permanent home.

Kay's life was always filled with music, both singing and dancing. She taught at the Arthur Murray Dance Studio. Kay Clark (her singing career name), performed in Chicago and Fort Lauderdale venues during her career with a wide range of styles. In the early 80's she moved to Denver, where country music was added to her repertoire. She quickly and expertly learned line dancing with "These Boots Are Made For Walking", always an audience request. While performing in Denver, Wyoming and Nebraska Kay received numerous awards including "Country Music Hall of Fame". Her love of music flourished with her daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

We have lost our Mother, Nana, performer and friend, but Kay is singing (and probably dancing) with the angels. She is deeply missed but one cannot believe in Heaven and be sad when a love one goes there.

"Well done my good and faithful servant."
