MAYNE, SGT, KENNITH
May 29, 1979 – September 4, 2008
Sgt. Kennith Mayne from Arvada, Colorado--Beloved son, grandson, brother, nephew, cousin, uncle and patriotic humanitarian was killed in the line of duty by a roadside bomb in Iraq. Ken was proud of his troops in both the 101st and 4th Infantry Division and he was honored to be able to help the Iraqi people in their journey of new life and freedoms. He was deeply touched by the children, and enjoyed their smiles and laughter at receiving the American toys, candy, and food that his mother sent from home. Some of his favorite duties were rebuilding sanitary conditions in the streets and restoring water lines to the newly rebuilt schools. He is survived by his parents Michelle and Dan Benavidez Sr., grandparents- Paulette Owen and Richard & Yvonne Benavidez and Marjorie Eardley siblings - Christina Beiderman and her husband Jeramy and son Jaden, Jennifer Morman and Danny Benavidez Jr.; aunts and uncles –Jeanine & Ron Roybal, Denise Owen and Herb Owen; cousins- Terry Mayne and his girlfriend Rachel and daughter Amber, Joshua Mayne, Sgt. William Owen, Michaelee Owen, Cody Foster and Alex Brown; Stepdad- James Morman; Biological Father- Larry Mayne. Graveside Services, Saturday, September 13,2008 at 1:00P.M. at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Shelter "A".
