Sharon Loretta Green was born December 31, 1970 in Kosciusko, MS to Carthenia (Tina) and Frank E. Green.
Learning and memorizing came easy for her. She mastered phonics and was able to read at age three. This enabled her to do well in school and was enrolled in first grade at the age of five. She later learned Spanish as well as American Sign Language and some Farsi (Persian language).
For Sharon, learning was a lifelong endeavor. She was a graduate of Gateway High School in Aurora, Colorado in 1988. When it came time for her to leave home to further her education, she attended Fisk University in Nashville, TN, know worldwide for its music program. Sharon was a music enthusiast and played both the electric bass guitar and upright bass. Sharon returned to Colorado and enrolled in Metropolitan State University where she majored in Communications and studied speech pathology at the graduate level. She was trained in technical writing and trained as a paralegal.
Her secular career took her from Colorado to Jackson, MS as a Master Control Operator at WAPT-TY Station. She would later become a writer and producer of the news at that station.
She dedicated her life to serving Jehovah and was baptized in June 1988, at the same time as her mother, as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. Sharon loved Jehovah very much and was non-compromising in serving him. Blood was one of those issues where she remained loyal to Jehovah to the end of her live. Romans 14:8-9 was one of her favorite scriptures, "For if we live, we live to Jehovah, and if we die, we die to Jehovah. So both if we live and if we die, we belong to Jehovah.". She enjoyed the ministry and took her dedication seriously. Her life was centered around zealously serving Jehovah God; preaching and teaching the good news of the Kingdom, sharing the hope and what it would do for mankind; and loyally supporting His organization by engaging in all aspects of the ministry. She did it so well with her soft, kind and beautiful voice and spoke in a nurturing way to everyone.
Sharon leaves behind to cherish her memories, her mother, Carthenia (Tina) Green and father Frank E. Green, two sisters Donna Dowell and Lisa Johnson and a brother Frank E. Green, Jr. There is also a host, if not a myriad of aunts, uncles and cousins.
The family of Sharon Green would like to express their sincere appreciation for all the loving support, kindness, prayers and words of encouragement. Thanks for the flowers, the meals and other expressions of love during this time of bereavement.
