Mrs. Sheila Thurlby, May 12, 1942 - May 29, 2020, was born in Nottingham, England to George
and Sarah Bradshaw. She married John on March 24, 1962, and in 1964 they immigrated to
the United States. She was a maid/cook for a wealthy Boston family, and in 1967 they
relocated to Miami, Florida where they had two sons, Matthew and Ian. In 1977 they relocated
once more to Aurora, Colorado which became her home for over 40 years. She started working
at Cherry Creek nursing home when her children were older where she took her love of cooking
for her family and transferred it to the residents she loved. Throughout her life she enjoyed
traveling the world with her husband of 58 years, seeing places like Greece, Italy, Japan,
Caribbean islands too numerous to count and most of the United States. She leaves behind
her devoted husband John, her sons Matthew (Debbie) Thurlby of Omaha, Nebraska, and Ian
Thurlby of Grand Junction, Colorado, grandchildren Mellissa (Joe) Gillmore of Broken Arrow,
Oklahoma, and Kyla and Liam Thurlby of Grand Junction, and great-grandchildren Kiara and
Milo Gillmore of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. She is also survived by her brother Malcom
(Christine) Bradshaw of Nottingham, England, nieces Karen (Ricky) Amatt, Paula (Pete) Twist,
Tina (Paul) Jeffries and nephews Paul Thurlby and Simon Thurlby all of Nottingham. She was
predeceased by her parents. In lieu of flowers, donations to Project Angel Heart would be
