Shirlene R. (Sullivan) Howard was born August 27, 1928 in Cape Girardeau , Missouri to her parents Samuel L. and Mabel M. Sullivan. She passed June 29, 2022. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Sam and Mabel Sullivan, and sister Maxine Hinton, brother Sammie Sullivan and husband Jay Howard.
She came to Colorado in October of 1947 to marry Harry J. Howard Jr. There are four children: Harry J. Howard III, Carol (Howard) McCracken, Peggy (Howard) Murphy, and Debbie Howard. Her grandchildren are Wade McCracken and Kelly (McCracken) Markline, Ronald Murphy, Teea (Murphy) Ashley, H.J. IV Howard, Bill Howard, and Eric Good.
Most of her grandchildren live in Colorado. There are numerous great grandchildren as well.
In 1948, the Jay's Gas Business began and ran for 38 years delivering propane to the Yampa Valley area. That business was sold which lead to traveling the United States and visiting relatives for the next 11 years. Eventually, they settled and lived in Aurora, Colorado.
Shirlene (Mom) will be laid to rest in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
