It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Shirley Ann Childers of Denver, Colorado at the age of 77. Our loving wife, mother, and grandmother was called to Heaven early morning on February 25th, 2023. Following a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's, Shirley Childers was preceded in death by her parents and son Daniel S. Childers. She was the second daughter born on March 1st, 1945 to David W. Adams and Anna C. Adams (McPhee) in Denver, Colorado. Lovingly remembered by her husband of 59 years, Billy W. Childers; daughters Deborah Y. Childers and Kristin D. Talmadge; grandchildren Nicholas R. Childers, Alaina E. Talmadge, and Isaiha M. Talmadge; sister Ruth Tancik and life long best friend William D. Cassel.
Shirley graduated from Adam City High School in 1963 and went on to pursue a career as a business secretary. She was passionate and dedicated to her work at the Adam City Government, KBPI FM Radio, Bob Blanchard Electrical Engineer, and the Denver Adult Probation Department. Outside of work, Shirley had a profound love for soccer which she played for 9 years and coached for 15. After retiring in 2005, she spent her days watching her favorite crime shows and watching her grandchildren grow up. At the age of 17, Shirley met the love of her life; Bill, at Lakeside Amusement Park. The couple got married on June 15, 1963, and went on to raise three beautiful children. Outside of work, Shirley had a profound love for soccer which she played for 9 years and coached for 15. Until the very end, Shirley loved God, her family, The Denver Broncos, Elvis, and her beloved puggle Bella more than anything in the world. Our beloved Shirley had endless love to share and will be forever missed by many.
