Stafford was born in Greeley, Colorado on April 12, 1946. He passed away on June 9, 2022, in his home in Lakewood, Colorado. He is survived by his wife, Judy, and three daughters: Alyssa Kilian of Littleton, Colorado, Hannah Wolf and her husband Dan of Wayland, Iowa, and Esther Wakie and her husband Henry of Allen Park, Michigan, and seven grandchildren: Brenna and Camdynn; Owen, Layla, and Avery; and Roman and Harper. He is preceded in death by his Father and Mother, Arthur and Fern Binder.
Stafford lived in Boulder, Colorado, most of his early life. He attended Colorado University in Boulder, entering the army in 1969 through 1971 during the Vietnam War. After he received an honorable discharge from the army, he returned to finish his education at Colorado University in Boulder, receiving a BS in Geography.
In 1974, after graduating from CU, Stafford began a lifelong career with the U. S. Geological Survey, working at the Federal Center in Lakewood, Colorado, for the Rocky Mountain Mapping Center. In 1977, he married Judy Fischer, and they made their home in Lakewood, Colorado.
Visitation and the service will be held at Red Rocks Baptist Church, 14711 W. Morrison Road, Morrison, Colorado 80465, on June 21, 2022. Visitation will be at 9 am and the service will be at 10 am, and the burial will be at Green Mountain Cemetery in Boulder, Colorado.
Stafford loved Missions and Missionaries, so in lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial contribution in his name to the Missions Fund at Red Rock Baptist Church, where he was a member for 48 years. Their website is www.redrocksbaptistchurch.org.
If you prefer to send flowers, please send them to the church on Monday, June 20th, the day before the funeral. Since the service is in the morning, they may not arrive in time if sent the day of the funeral.
