February 24, 1937 - September 26, 2009
Stephen A. Krasowski "Ski," age 72, passed away peacefully and at home in Colorado after a long battle with cancer.
Born in Trenton, NJ to Stephen W. and Julia (Szabo), Steve grew up in Philadelphia, PA before enlisting in the Marine Corps in 1954. His wishes were to sprinkle some of his ashed at Camp LeJeune and Camp Pendleton, so we know that his years spent serving as a Marine were endearing to him.
Ski served two tours in the Marine Corps (1954 - 1959), (1966 - 1969), with time served in Vietnam. Those who knew him know that those were his very formative years, developing the off-color political views that he was well known for!
He also served as a Philadelphia Firefighter (1959 - 1965), Phila. Police Officer (1969 - 1982), and was employed with the Department of the Navy (1982 - 1997).
After retirement, Steve and his wife Pat moved to Bethany Beach, DE where Steve worked at the Bethany Arms Motel for 6 years.
He is survived by his wife Patricia A. (Kozel) Krasowski, who was lucky to have been able to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with him in August; daughter Judi M. and her husband Lt. Col. Dick Fulton, USAF, and his three grandchildren Taylor (11), Sydney (9), and Noah (6). Steve and Pat moved to Aurora, CO three years ago to follow their nomadic military family, where Steve underwent his cancer treatments at Rocky Mountain Cancer Center.
He is also survived by his sister Carole J. Falsone from Philadelphia, his faithful mutt Corkie, and many devoted friends from all walks of life.
Funeral services with military honors will be held on Tuesday, October 6 at 11:00am at Fort Logan National Cemetery, staging area A, 3698 S Sheridan Blvd, Denver CO. The family also invites you to celebrate his life at a reception immediately following the ceremony at The Bent Noodle, 3055 S Parker Rd, Aurora CO.
Memorial donations can be made in Stephen's name to St Jude's Children's Hospital (www.stjude.org) or USMC Wounded Warrior Regiment (www.woundedwarriorregiment.org).
