Steven Matthew Engstrom, age 52, passed away on September 22, 2020 in his hometown of Westminster, CO. He was born on October 10, 1967 in California to the late Daniel and Cynthia Engstrom.
For the better part of his life he was a Federal Corrections Officer in the city of Littleton. Before his federal government position, he was a phlebotomist and volunteer fire fighter for Arvada. Steve had a huge heart and was a kind, gentle, generous, trusting, and beautiful soul who hated getting his picture taken.
He made sure that everyone was taken care of, and that people would enjoy their time when he was around. Even if that meant serving others at a restaurant when he wasn't the waiter, or stopping traffic in the middle of Sheridan Blvd so you can pass by, sneaking up to the door of a famous person's hotel room to get a glimpse or an autograph, or getting his nieces up in the middle of the night to make caramel corn to distribute to other people. Whenever you needed him, no matter what time, he was there. He was an avid chef and would often cater for his family's parties. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle with his brothers, and spending time with his many friends. He took everyone under his wing, and you knew he really loved you when, after telling him "I love you", he replied, "ditto".
Steve is survived by his three-siblings: Dan, Dave, and Christina; five-nieces Tanya, Ashley, Janae, Caela, and Raeya; two-nephews Brandon and Alek; and four-cousins Jayden, Camdyn, Jakeb, and Brooklynn. Steve is also survived by many other family and friends who loved him dearly.
