Steven Michael Benedict, 65, of Littleton, CO, passed away on February 3, 2024. Born on June 24, 1958, in Henderson, Nebraska, Steven was the beloved son of Elizabeth Benedict and the late Nila Benedict.
Steven was a man who loved and cared about everyone he encountered. His generosity knew no bounds, as he freely shared his love and hugs with those around him. His positive impact on others was immeasurable and will forever be remembered by those whose lives he touched.
In addition to his mother, Steven is survived by his daughter, Rebecca Benedict, his son, Steven Benedict Jr, daughter Tonia Benedict and his long-time girlfriend, Kristy Cox, his ex-wife, Fraedie Johnson. He left his best most loved 4 legged friend Gunner as well. His brother, Scott Benedict, and sister-in-law, Sharon Benedict. He is also survived by his sister, Kristia Douts, and brother-in-law, John Douts, his brother, James Benedict, and sister-in-law, Liz, as well as numerous loving nieces, nephews, and aunts.
Steven proudly served his country as a member of the US Coast Guard from 1976 to 1980 aboard the Polar Sea. His dedication and commitment to duty during his military service exemplified his strong character and sense of duty.
Following his time in the military, Steven embarked on a successful career as the Test Lab Manager for the Bureau of Prisons. His expertise and professionalism were greatly valued by his colleagues and he made significant contributions to his field.
Steven poured his heart and soul into coaching Little League football for nine years, where he not only taught the game but also instilled values of teamwork, perseverance, and sportsmanship in every player he mentored. His passion for the sport was surpassed only by his genuine love for the children he coached and the families he became an integral part of. Beyond the field, Steven shared countless cherished moments with his son, forging a bond strengthened by their shared love of football and the time they spent together. His devotion to family was unwavering, and his impact extended far beyond his own household, touching the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Steven's legacy is one of kindness, generosity, and the enduring power of mentorship. He leaves behind a community forever enriched by his presence.him. Though he may be gone, the memories he created and the lessons he imparted will continue to inspire and guide us all.
Steven's passing leaves a void in the lives of all who knew him. His memory will be cherished and his legacy will live on through the memories and stories shared by his loved ones.
