Steve Nazzise was born in Omaha, Nebraska on December 7, 1949. He was one of three children born to Salvatore and Marilyn Nazzise.
The family moved to Colorado when Steve was still small.
He has lived in Colorado most of his life, with some years living in Hawaii.
He graduated from Mapleton High School, class of '68.
After graduation, Steve entered the world of Rocky Flats Nuclear Facility, where he spent 35 years wearing many different hats.
This was briefly interrupted by Uncle Sam to serve in the US Army during the Vietnam Conflict.
After coming home, he rejoined the Rocky Flats "Family".
In 1997, Steve became a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, where he would stay current until present day. During this time, he had become a Past Exalted Ruler and Sergeant at Arms, which he proudly served.
On November 21st of 1984, Steve became a proud father to his son, Brandon, his "pal" for life.
After Rocky Flats, Steve met his current wife, Sandy, who he would spend his remaining years with.
Steve is survived by his wife Sandy; stepdaughter Stacey, and son in law, David; son, Brandon, and daughter in law, Kim; granddaughter Tara, and grandson Jordan; brother, Don, and sister in law Mary; nephew, Jeremy, niece Morgan; sister Jennette; niece Denni; nephew Ben; half-sister Annette; niece Donna; several great nieces, nephews, and cousins.
And hundreds of friends and "Rocky Flats Family" members.
Everyone whom Steve came in contact with, made his life complete and whole.
He was known by hundreds and loved by anyone who truly knew him.
He was a proud American and Patriot to his country.
