Sui Chu L. Wong, 94, of Highlands Ranch, passed away December 12, 2021.
She was born on June 29, 1927 in Guangdong, China, the daughter of Kong Pei and Jin Yu (Lei) Liu. On September 12, 1946, she married Hay F. Wong, who preceded her in death.
She raised seven children and spent many years working alongside her husband in his food stall in Hong Kong. She also worked as a seamstress in New York's Chinatown after the family immigrated to the United States in 1974. She retired to help take care of grandchildren when the family eventually settled in Colorado in 1983. She was a wonderful cook and specialized in making traditional Chinese dishes from the village in which she grew up. She fed many people in her lifetime. She also enjoyed sewing and made many of her own clothes. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with family. Following her retirement, she was able to travel to many places with her husband and children, including Alaska, Hawaii, Europe, China, Taiwan, Japan, Canada, and various national parks in the states.
Sui Chu L. Wong is survived by her sons, Stephen C. (Barbara) Wong and Kin W. (Hooi Ling) Wong; daughters, Kam Ngai (Don) Leon, Eileen (Michael) Cheng, Phyllis (Arthur) Gold, Samantha Wong, and Julie (Richard) Nyikos; brother, Sik Chow Lau; sister, Zhi Ling Liu; and 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her brother, Manuel Lau; and her sister, Sui Wan Lam.
