Susanne Browne Sprouse, formerly of Stevens Point, Wisconsin, died October 6, 2018 in Lakewood, Colorado surrounded by her family, after an extended illness. Susanne (Susie) was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on August 3, 1946 and was the daughter of Michael Leonard Browne and Marguerite Mayer Browne.
Susie attended The Agnes Irwin School in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, graduating in 1964. Upon, graduation, she attended Garland Junior College in Boston, Massachusetts. Susie had a lifelong career working with children in a variety of settings and capacities. In her early career, she worked as a kindergarten teacher and early childcare provider in Boston, Pennsylvania, and Colorado. Her most recent position was Director of The Helen R. Godfrey University Child Learning and Care Center at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. She retired in 2011 after 33 years of dedicated service.
Susie was an active member of the Stevens Point community. She participated in various leadership conferences and committees. She was a member of the St. Paul United Methodist Church and enjoyed Bible study discussion groups including Women on the Grow. In her spare time, she enjoyed yoga, hiking, camping, traveling, and spending time with her friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Timothy Sprouse, and daughter, Mollie (Sprouse) Jonart, as well as two sisters.
