Suzy Bennett

November 24, 1980 — December 9, 2024

Elizabeth, Colorado

Suzanne Judith Bennett was a devoted wife of almost 14 years and loving mother of Luke, Lucy, Gloria and Charlie. She was the youngest in a family of six children.

As a child, she not only had a high IQ but also great artistic ability and loved to draw and play piano. One of the very first songs she learned to play within the first months of playing piano was Fur Elise, in 2nd grade, which she played for her very first piano recital. Often after school, she’d sling off her backpack and sit down at the piano bench and play any song she wanted by ear.

Growing up she was also naturally inclined to sports, but her favorite was volleyball. In high school, most of her closest friends were also teammates. Not long after graduating from Prescott High School, Suzy made her way to San Diego. It took her some time, but she made it through her tough studies and high cost of living in Southern California until she graduated with a degree in accounting.

It was in San Diego where she met the love of her life Bob, who was in the Navy. Bob and Suzy married in Jacksonville Florida. Not long after they were married, and shortly before Bob was deployed, Suzy became pregnant with Luke. Over the years, they moved where the Navy sent them: Virginia and Colorado Springs, where Lucy and Gloria were born. After Bob left the Navy for a job in the private sector, they moved to Commerce City and finally to their current home in Elizabeth, where Charlie was born. Suzy was absolutely dedicated to her husband and children.

Over the years, apart from being a homemaker, Suzy had her own photography business and in more recent years worked for an accounting firm part time. She loved cooking and baking, Jim Carrey comedies, vacations at the beach or in the mountains, but most of all her family and her Faith, which was her lens for seeing the world around her and shaped her heart for the people she loved.

Courage, dear heart. -C.S. Lewi
