Sylvia B. Jones

Sylvia Jones, age 78, passed away peacefully October 14, 2020.

She was born in Chickasha, Oklahoma and was the middle child out of 5 siblings by Nan Hightower. After completing high school, she married her high school sweetheart George Jones who proceeded her in death in 1993.

The Jones family was stationed all over the world with George's lengthy Air Force career. Denver held a special place in Sylvia and George's heart, so much so that when they had the option to return to Denver, they would take it. After George's retirement from the Air Force, the family made Denver their permanent home.

Then she was given employment at Lowry Air Force Base as a Supervisor of Annuity Retired Pay.

While traveling, Sylvia always stayed busy with learning different cuisines. She quickly learned many Japanese cuisines while living in Fuchu, Japan. She often made different home decors, dolls, clothes and a variety of cakes. She was awesome with her hands and decorating. Her biggest joys were kids and being there to love, encourage, play, uplift and support them. She loved to love on people, family, kids and grandchildren. There were no limits she would not go to support her kids, grandkids, coworkers, nieces, nephews and some she may not even known that well. That is the kind of loving person she was. She had 3 sisters and 1 brother all of which are very close knit family and made sure all of us kids were too.

She was known as being a mama's baby, often crying much when her mom was leaving her. Even in her last days with dementia she still often asked for her mother.

Sylvia was an angel that God blessed each and everyone of us with. She will be missed by all who knew of her or came in contact with her.

Thank you, Mom, for blessing us with an amazing life and for being our Mother, Grandmother, Aunt, Sibling and Friend.

Sylvia is survived by her daughter, Gaye Jones; son, Randal Jones; her grandkids, Christopher Belcher, Brittany Jones, Kiel Cunningham, Keah Cunningham, Randal "R.J." Jones, Jaelen Jones; great-grandchildren, Elijah Belcher, Nylah Jones, Kiel Cunningham Jr., Kori Cunningham, K'Loni Cunningham; her sister, Marvis Page, Arby Fugett and Mignon Hoffman and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her husband George A. Jones; her son, Stanley B. Jones; her parents and two siblings, Bernard Fisher and Joan Graham.
