Sylvia Teresa Rivera

Sylvia Teresa Rivera, born September 24, 1942 to Salvador Arthur Velasquez and Rose Ramona Gallegos, passed away May 30, 2023. She was a loving Mother, Sister, Nana, Great Nana, and Friend. Sylvia will be deeply missed. Survived by her daughter Geraldine Rene Garcia (Ron), son Gerald Angel Garcia (Jaine), and her loving grandchildren Jerry (Shena), Victor (Melissa), Derrick (Niki), Devin (Janae), and Alexis. Sylvia was also blessed with fourteen great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to her life and that she loved to spoil often. She was also survived by her sister Cathy (Nick) Sena, brother Maurice Velasquez and their children and grandchildren. She leaves behind a close-knit family and numerous friends whose lives she touched. She is loved by many.

Sylvia's kindness, generosity, and youthful spirit endeared her to all who knew her. Her vibrant personality and love of fashion were evident in her impeccable style and radiant presence. Nothing meant more to her than being surrounded by family and friends as often as possible. Shopping often with her daughter and son was one of her favorite pastimes. She possessed a special fondness for butterflies, mushrooms, and all things blingy, including her beloved flamboyant, bold jewelry. Sylvia's zest for life was contagious. When walking into a room she occupied you could not help but smile the moment you saw her. She always embraced each moment with a spirit of fun and joy.

Sylvia was proud to have retired from Boeing Aircraft Company where she worked as a Aerospace Mechanic for many years.

To honor Sylvia's remarkable life please join us to celebrate the memories she created with each of us. Family and friends are invited to join in remembrance of the beautiful life she lived. A reception will be held on Friday, June 9 at 2:00pm at 8201 S. Santa Fe Dr., Club House/Office Littleton, CO 80120 (next to the pool).
