Sylvia Mara Rehar Rose (March 8, 1949-January 8, 2020)
Sylvia was born March 8th, 1949 in Garmish, Germany. She lived in Lakewood, Colorado, widowed after the passing of her husband (Melvin Kenneth Rose) in 2012, after 40 years of marriage.
Sylvia spent much of her life spending time with her daughter, Stephanie (42) and her two grandsons Tyler (23) and Colby (18). Family was the forefront of Sylvia's life and she often looked forward to get togethers and the holidays.
Sylvia, also possessed a fierce work ethic.. Not yet planning to retire, she enjoyed working with her beloved patients and coworkers in the optometry office where she worked for many years. Beyond the time spent with family and working, Sylvia had a great love of people and enjoyed making friends with neighbors, coworkers, parents at her grandson's hockey games, and even those she met in passing. Sylvia also enjoyed a passion for sports, which she shared with her husband and grandchildren.
Sylvia was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Melvin Kenneth Rose. She is survived by her daughter, Stephanie, grandsons, Tyler and Colby Rose, sisters, Krista Natoli and Carole Strong, and her 98-year-old mother, Valerie Rehar.
Sylvia passed away Wednesday January, 8th, 2020 - Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her and her family, who will continue her legacy through generations to come.
Sylvia's memorial service will be held at the Newcomer West Metro Chapel 901 S Sheridan Blvd, Lakewood, CO 80226) at 11:00am on February 1st for all who would like to pay their respects.
A gathering of family and friends will be welcomed at her home 1374 S. Drexel Way, Lakewood, CO 80232), following the service.
