Tanya Jean Frick passed away peacefully on Friday, June 16, 2023, in Aurora, Colorado. She was 73 years old. She was born on July 16, 1949, in Fort Meade, Maryland.
Tanya's parents were Roy and Nelda Schuman from Illinois. Her father was a US Army veteran. Tanya and her family moved around during her childhood, including Fort Meade Army Base, Maryland, Peoria, Illinois, and Vogelweh Military Base, Kaiserslautern, Germany. While in Germany, her family traveled around Europe, enjoying the people, food and countryside. Picnics were often planned on the weekends. The family's last move was to Aurora, Colorado, in 1959.
Tanya graduated from Hinkley High School in 1967. She attended St. Luke's School of Nursing and graduated in 1970 as a registered nurse. She enjoyed a long and successful career as an R.N.
In December, 1968, she married William A. Frick who was serving in the United States Air Force at the time. Her husband, Bill, passed away, February 14, 2022, after 53 years of marriage. Tanya is survived by two sons, William A. Frick II (Billy), and granddaughter Trista Rose Frick, and son David Earl Frick and granddaughter Faith Ashley Frick.
Tanya's family was her pride and joy! She felt blessed with all the love and care her family provided.
She learned how to crochet from her grandmother, Lottie Schuman. This turned into her life long passion of crocheting. To this day her family still treasures the doilies, tablecloths, and specially designed creations she made for them. Tanya's other passion was cooking and baking. You always were in for a delicious meal! She was also the designated family historian. She had records of all family members.
She is survived by one brother, David Earl Schuman, two sisters, Deborah Trafton, and Pamela Brown, and a sister-in-law, Ruth Forrester, plus numerous nieces, nephews and cousins that dearly loved her.
Tanya attended Tower Community Fellowship Church. Her faith in the Lord was strong and very important to her.
Tanya was a "happy -go- lucky," person, with a kind-hearted soul. People who got to know Tanya were truly blessed! She will be sincerely missed by her loving family. God bless Tanya! She is our Angel!
