Terrence William Emmett, a cherished husband, father, and friend, was born to Elden B Emmett and Jeanne Marie Cocharn on July 1,1942, and departed this life on October 12, 2024, at the North Suburban Medical Center. He left this earth surrounded by the love of his family, a testament to the strong bonds he nurtured throughout his life.
A devoted member of the American Legion #22 and also a member of the Northglenn Elks for over 54 years, Terrence dedicated his life to service and community. Before these esteemed associations, he proudly served in the Navy, reflecting a deep sense of duty and commitment that marked his character.
Terrence’s professional journey led him to become a skilled machinist at Sunstrand Aviation, where he applied his talents and precision. He completed his education with a high school diploma, embarking on a career that showcased not only his skill but also his unwavering work ethic.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Terrence exemplified the values of love and care. His gentle disposition and quiet nature endeared him to those around him. He cherished holidays, particularly Thanksgiving and Christmas, when family gatherings transformed into joyful celebrations filled with warmth and laughter. He delighted in camping and traveling, reveling in adventures that allowed him to connect with loved ones and nature alike.
His legacy continues through his beloved family. Terrence is survived by his devoted spouse, Julia Emmett; his son, Duane Thomas; his daughter, Jeanne Christine; and his stepson, Charles Forbes. He also leaves behind his cherished daughter-in-law, Trudy, as well as three adored grandchildren: Jeff, and Jasmine and her husband Matt Bullock, along with Jessica and her husband Anthony Bellion. In the next generation, his four great-grandchildren—Allison, Rosalie, Adrian, and Julia—will forever carry forward his spirit and teachings.
Terrence’s journey on this earth is also marked by poignant memories of those who preceded him in death, including his half-brother, Michael. He is further remembered fondly by his half-brother, Ronald Mary of Portland, Oregon.
