Education: Attended Denver Parochial schools, graduating from St. Francis High (now gone) in 1952; graduate of the University of Colorado, B.A. in English, January, 1960;
Juris Doctorate, University of Denver Law School, June, 1967;

Marriage: Married his wife of 48 years, Dorothy Ann O'Toole of Sioux City, Iowa, in Denver on September 6, 1958;

Children: Diane Grierson of Centennial; Kathleen Ann Nahman of Mountain View CA.; Thomas P. of Parker; and Terence W. of Denver;

Grandchildren: Molly A. Grierson and Jennifer of Centennial; Kelly A. Nahman, Andrew Nahman, and Haley Nahman of Mountain View, CA; and Connor and Colton McCaffrey of Parker.

Brothers: Michael McCaffrey of Denver (wife, Nancy); Patrick McCaffrey (wife, Barbara)

Employment: 1960 to 1968, Continental Casualty Company;
1968 to 1972, private practice of law;
1972 to 1976, Administrative Law Judge, Colorado Public Utilities Commission.
1976 to 1995, General Counsel for Tri-State Generation and Transmission Association, Inc., and electric utility supplying power to the rural electric cooperative in Colorado, New Mexico, Nebraska, and Wyoming. Retired July 1, 1995.
SINCE RETIREMENT
Has been engaged principally in volunteering his time and experience with the homeless through the Broadway Assistance Center at St. Joseph's Church in Denver, rendering pro bono legal services to the homeless and indigent, and
assisting in formation of other nonprofit charitable organizations, specifically including his principal effort in co-founding in 1998 The Franciscan Brothers of Mary, d/b/a The Franciscan Friends of the Poor, 707 Lipan Street in Denver
