On October 29, 1925, Thomas Louis Nieto was born at home in Goodrich, Colorado to Predicanda and Amado Nieto. Thomas was the 2nd to the youngest of 8 children born to his parents. He grew up and worked on a farm with his sibling.
When the war began, he lied about his age and joined the Navy. He was only 17. His cousin introduced him to Lily in California where they were married and had their first child. Later they moved to Colorado where he went to work for Carlson Frink. Carlson Frink was later bought out by Meadow Gold where he worked for many years. Thomas and Lily's other three children were born in Denver, Colorado. He and his wife both worked in an effort to buy a home for their family, which they did in north Denver. Their children attended the local parochial school, Mt. Carmel. They later bought a new home in the brand new subdivision in Arvada, which was way out in the country at the time. Tom purchased a business that he ran for many years. He built quite a reputation which preceded him everywhere he went. This reputation was Thomas Nieto through and through. He was a powerhouse in his time.
Thomas is survived by 4 children, 13 Grandchildren, 16 Great Grandchildren, one Sister, numerous Nieces and Nephews and many Cousins. He was preceded in death by his Wife, Lily and 2 Grandchildren, Sharilynn Novotny and Seth Thomas Ness. This is the end of an era for our family. We will miss you so much Dad, Grandpa, Great Grandpa, Brother, Uncle, Brother-in-law and Cousin.
