Survived by his daughters Patricia (Ed) Roth of Houston, TX., Jane Fairchild; grandkids Nathan (Angie) Hug and CJ Fairchild; great-grandkids Taylor and Jaxson; brothers Andy (Edna), Bob (Eunice) Moore. Preceded in death by loving wife Carole and grandaughter Robyn Fairchild. Graveside Inurnment Friday, December 28, 2007 at Ft. Logan National Cemetery 2:30 P.M. Staging Area "B". In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
Tom was born in Fort Dodge, Iowa and lived there most of his early life. He and his family moved to Los Angeles, CA for 2 years. While Tom was there, he attended Huntington Park High School where his team set a 440- relay record that still stands today.
Tom finished high school in Fort Dodge in 1941. He enlisted in the Army in 1942 and served 2 years in Europe during WWII earning a Bronze Star.
Upon his return from the Army, he went to Denver University. He had a long and successful career with various banking institutions in the Denver area.
At his first bank, he met Carole, and they were married in 1952. He and Carole enjoyed travel all over the US and the world. He has two daughters, Patricia and Jane, two grandkids, Nathan and CJ and two great-grandkids Taylor and Jaxson. Carole and granddaughter, Robyn preceded him in death.
Tom enjoyed golf -when he played well - and he was involved with Rotary International for years and particularly enjoyed the project Friendship Bridge.
He loved the stock market and according to Tom, he only bought winners and never admitted to a loser.
Tom loved his family and friends very much.
