Tracy Tate was born in Borger, TX on July 21, 1938. The third of six children born to Esley and Ola Mae Tate.
He served in the U. S. Army from January 1959 until his discharge in April 1963. Tracy was stationed in Germany where he did extensive traveling during his leaves as well as travels through France, Holland and Switzerland.
Tracy returned to the United States where he worked on oil & water rigs in Texas and Oklahoma.
In 1964 he met Sharon Thompson at Doggie Days in Dumas, TX. Shortly after he moved to Denver, CO where he attended, and graduated from Denver Automotive and Diesel College as an autobody/paint technician.
Tracy married Sharon Thompson on June 22, 1968. They have two children, Rhonda Larson and Clayton Tate, and one grandson, Tracy Eugene Hedlund.
Tracy worked for A & K Auto Works for six years and then returned to D.A.D.C. as an autobody/paint instructor. He worked for D.A.D.C. until 1974 when he went to work for T. H. Pickens Technical School (Aurora Public Schools system). He retired from T. H. Pickens in 1995.
His passion and his first love was always family. Tracy was happiest when he was surrounded by family and very good friends. He relished the family reunions as a time of renewal and love.
Tracy had numerous hobbies and interests including but not limited to: painting pictures with oil paints, sketching, fishing with his son and grandson, weekend trips to Cripple Creek. Tracy was a history and trivia buff as well.
