Troy Edward Hendershott

January 14, 1982 — June 4, 2018

In Loving Memory of Troy Edward Hendershott

Troy Edward Hendershott, an adventurer, broadcast media professional, English teacher and resident of Denver, Colorado, passed away on June 4, 2018 at the age of 36.

Troy is survived by his parents Dale and Karen Hendershott; his sisters Tiffany Rodriguez and Tracy Berg; his brother Brandon Hendershott and brothers in law Philip Rodriguez and Justin Berg; his nieces Ana and Eden Rodriguez and Olive Berg and many uncles, aunts and cousins.

Troy was born on January 14, 1982 in Seoul, South Korea, and was adopted on May 22, 1982. He graduated from the University of Colorado in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism with emphasis in Broadcast Production Management and English Literature. He also earned his TESOL Certification to teach English as a second or foreign language through the Advanced College of Languages and Training Canada in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Troy was an ambitious soul who lived life to the fullest, and he was loved by many. He was an avid athlete, passionate Denver Broncos fan, hard worker, fun-loving and humorous. Troy's interests varied from editing and producing videos to being the co-founder of the legendary "Boozers" softball team in Denver. He volunteered at an orphanage over the course of nearly four years through the Eastern Social Welfare Society in South Korea. Being a Korean adoptee himself, Troy gave countless hours of his time assisting Korean Adoptees with advice, counseling and his own personal experience.

With an infectious laugh and the ability to make friends with nearly everyone he met, Troy may be best remembered for his adventurous spirit. He loved to experience different cultures, languages and people, and always hoped to inspire others to venture out of the comforts of their everyday life. He traveled the world continuously for nearly six years, beginning with a one-way ticket to Belize on March 5, 2012. Over the course of his journey, Troy visited nearly every corner of the globe. The total distance he traveled was roughly equivalent to him circling the earth eight and a half times, with his world travels bringing him back to Denver on January 16, 2018.

Troy will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.

A memorial service to celebrate and remember Troy's life is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on June 12, 2018 at the Armory Performing Arts Center, 300 Strong Street Brighton, CO 80601.
