Vicki Jean Frazier, 59, passed away April 29, 2005. Visitation Tuesday, May 3, 5:00 to 8:00 P.M., service Wednesday, May 4, 11:00 A.M., both at Newcomer Family Funeral Home, East Metro Chapel, 190 N. Potomac Street, Aurora.
Across a variety of jobs and a multitude of years, Vicki found fulfilling ways to give to her family and community. First as an administrative assistant at Ashland Oil Company, then proving her business and personal mettle as an office manager for IBM and Alaska Coachways in Fairbanks, Alaska. For the past 20 years, she has arned the respect of her peers and her profession as a paralegal at two Denver-area law firms.
Vicki lit up a room with her smile and never knew the meaning of "stranger" -- her loving and caring gentle gift of gab made anyone she talked with feel a bit more cared for, a bit more appreciated. Friends personal and professional came to call her "Mom".
As a mother, she raised two exceptional children (some would say three including her husband Ted) using a recipe of selfless love, sage independence, and mother, in fact, knowing best. As her kids grew, she shared her spirit and talents as a Campfire Girl leader and a member of the Homemakers Club in Alaska.
She loved the earth and its bounty. The breathtaking flowers from her garden and succulent tomatoes from her vines drew neighbors and friends from all around.
Always active in her local church, Vicki never doubted the healing power of prayer. She fought and won a long battle with breast cancer and other medical issues - her will to survive was fierce, and her willingness to battle never in doubt.
Her final battle was just as fierce. Though only two percent of those afflicted as Vicki will survive the initial attack, she fought to remainn on this earth, fought to see her husband and children again.
Though always a fighter, in the end, she surrendered to her Maker.
May she rest in heaven in peace.
