Vickie Lynn Darveau

September 15, 1951 — September 23, 2019

Vickie L. Darveau, 68, of Boulder, CO, died September 23, 2019, at the home of her daughter. She was born on September 15, 1951, in Denver, CO, the second of three children born to Hugh V. Darveau and Eleanore (Keller) Darveau. She grew up in Denver and Lakewood, graduating from Bear Creek High School and the University of
Colorado at Boulder.

She married Lloyd A. Landin in September, 1975. They had four children and later divorced in 1996.

Vickie worked in an insurance office and as a bookkeeper during her early marriage. After she became a mother, she operated a licensed daycare in her home. She loved, nurtured and influenced countless babies and children over her lifetime. This loving care of children was her true calling; she was always a caregiver extraordinaire. She
thrived on the chaos of a houseful of family and friends. Her mantra was always "the more, the merrier." Despite the fact that she worked long hours doing daycare, she never missed the activities of her own four children. She was the Girl Scout leader, the school volunteer and the sports mom. She drew everyone into her circle and was the
first to strike up a conversation with a stranger. She never forgot a birthday or special event. Everyone felt cherished under her care. She was always first in line to plan activities for the family and included everyone. She would rather hang out with her children and nieces at night than sleep! There were many summer nights when she
would play card games well into the early hours; the kids got to sleep in, but she was up early to greet the daycare kids. As adults and parents now, her children wonder how she did it all.

After retiring from daycare, Vickie worked as a receptionist at a dental office for 10 years. She was very much loved by all of the patients for her care and concern.

Vickie enjoyed reading, crafting and scrapbooking, and for the last few years, playing Words With Friends. During the months her children (and nieces) were up during the night with small babies, Vickie could be counted on to be play Words with them! They all say the game is just not the same without her playing. She also especially loved
seeing daily pictures and videos of her grandchildren. She had a special bond with all seven of her grandchildren and loved having them spend the night with her. They were all the light of her life and she took great pride in each of them.

Vickie was preceded in death by her grandparents and mother, ten aunts and nine uncles and several cousins. She is survived by her father, Hugh; sister, LaNae (Nick) Hardy; brother, Geoffrey Darveau; four children: Andrea (Alex) Sammells, Tamara (Ryan) Delgado, Kevin (Rebecca) Landin and Veronica Landin; seven grandchildren: Andres
Delgado, Jacob Landin, Lenore Delgado, Elizabeth Sammells, Brian Landin, Eloise Delgado and Mackenzie Sammells; three nieces: Emily (Joel) Hardy-Green, Alison (Ben) Skubish, Lisa (Tom) Huseas; one nephew, Tino Maestas; two great-nieces: Lyla Skubish and Delany Green; two great-nephews: Tyson and Zachary Huseas; aunt,
Roseann Nolte; and numerous cousins.
