Victor Joseph Rael, a steadfast pillar of strength and a beacon of joy to those fortunate enough to know him, departed this life on December 8, 2024, at Denver Health Hospital. Born on August 20, 1959, in Tucson, Arizona, Victor's life was marked by a blend of humor and gruff tenderness, qualities that endeared him to many.
An accomplished entrepreneur, he proudly owned a construction company, where his dedication and expertise left a significant mark on his community. Victor's educational journey led him to graduate from Sierra Grand, where the seeds of his industrious spirit germinated. His career was not merely a professional pursuit; it was a manifestation of his commitment to creating a legacy that would endure through the ages.
Known for his welcoming demeanor and infectious laughter, Victor possessed an uncanny ability to brighten any room. His friends and family often caught glimpses of his endearing grumpiness, which only added to his charming character. Amidst his professional pursuits, he thrived in life’s simple pleasures. Victor found immense joy in listening to music, reveling in the electrifying atmosphere of Broncos games, and dancing with an enthusiasm that belied his years. His penchant for storytelling—often exaggerated to humorous heights—ensured that his tales would become cherished memories. No gathering was complete without Victor's cold beer in hand, or his cheerful presence, weaving warmth into the fabric of his family life.
Victor’s proudest accomplishments revolved around his beloved family, namely his grandchildren, whom he cherished deeply. He was equally proud of his legacy as the greatest Fort Garland basketball player, a title he wore with pride and exuberance. The love he fostered within his family was immeasurable, and his nurturing spirit resonated in the hearts of those he held dear.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Debra Rael, and his loving children: Cassandra Huizar Rael and her spouse Sergio Huizar Pacheco, Tiffiny Rodriguez and her spouse Alex Rodriguez. Victor will be remembered fondly by his mother, Evilia A. Gonzales, and his brothers, Rick Gonzalez and Albert Rael. His grandchildren, Elijah Rael Rodriguez, Aniyah Rodriguez, and Josiah Rodriguez, along with his bonus son, Danny Ray Martinez, and bonus grandson, Jaden Martinez, will carry forth the legacy of the man who shaped their lives with his love.
Victor's departure is mourned by all who knew him, including those who now look to the heavens, grateful for the richness he brought to their lives. As his legacy continues to unfold through the laughter and love of his family, Victor Joseph Rael will forever remain a cherished memory in the hearts of those who were blessed to call him husband, father, brother, son, and friend. He now joins his beloved father, Jose Rael, and his sister, Margaret McDonald, in eternal rest.
