Viola Mae Lamb

Viola Mae (nee Andrew) Lamb passed away peacefully on Friday, August 3, 2007.

Viola was born in Deer Trail, Colorado on March 26, 1919, and graduated from high school in Longmont, Colorado. She married Eugene James Lamb on July, 3 1941; they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in Denver in 1991.
Viola lived most of her life in the Westwood area of Denver, and was active in the local PTA long after her children were out of the school system. She worked at Gates Rubber Co. and Grants downtown store during the war, then began her career as a homemaker, seamstress and weaver. She made all her own clothes and provided her children and friends with beautiful outfits, including one wedding dress. Viola spent many years attending sewing, weaving and other needlework classes at Opportunity School in downtown Denver. She was also very active with her church, Mountain View Community Reformed Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Pearl Caldwell Andrew and Albert Harvey Andrew; three brothers, Cecil, Donald, Leroy and one sister, Dora, and by husband Gene Lamb and son Kim Lamb. She is survived by daughters Kit (Ron) Cressler of Arizona and Kerry (John Anthes) Lamb of Seattle; grandchildren, Jay Newton, Mark (Tami) Newton and Lisa Newton; great-grandchildren, Cory Newton, Karee Rogers, Kayla Newton, Hayden Newton and Hunter Newton.

Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, August 18, 2007 at 10:30A.M. at Mountain View Community Reformed Church, 3939 W. Florida Ave., Denver, CO 80219. Please omit flowers; the family requests that friends honor Viola Lamb's memory through donations to the Mountain View Community Reformed Church Pantry, Attn: Scott.
