Virginia Mae Giroue passed away at the age of 94, Monday, May 13, 2024 at Porter Hospice in Centennial, Colorado.
She was born in Denver, Colorado to the late Frank and Hattie Koeteeuw on May 8, 1930. She graduated from South High School in 1948. Virginia married her late husband Robert E. Giroue on July 29, 1950, the day before his deployment to Korea. After his military discharge, Virginia and Robert decided to settle down in Southwest Denver where they would raise their family.
Virginia is survived by her three sons, Robert, Rick, and Ryan Giroue. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Kathleen Truby, and her husband Robert E. Giroue.
Some of Virginia’s favorite pastimes were spending time with her family, adding to her famous family recipe book, and following her Colorado Rockies baseball team every chance she had. She was known for her unyielding values, compassion, generosity, sense of humor, and her love for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Virginia will be greatly missed.
Virginia and Robert will be reunited at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Colorado. A memorial will be held on June 4, 2024 at 11:30 AM. Please meet at Staging Area A by 11:15 am.
