Virginia Mae Plastino
March 1, 1947 – November 21, 2022
We lost a remarkable mother and wife on November 21, 2022. Virginia Plastino died suddenly from a heart problem after becoming ill a few days earlier.
Ginny was a great mother to her son Kyle, and her daughter Heather, who predeceased her in 1990. She was wife to her husband of 52 years, Richard, who was just totally in love with her.
Gin and Dick met about 53 years ago in Tacoma, Washington. He then foolishly left her behind when he started graduate school in Missouri. He soon came to his senses, asked her to marry him, and they were married October 3, 1970 in Columbia, Missouri.
Ginny was a registered nurse and obtained her BS from the University of Iowa. She worked at Lutheran Hospital in Wheat Ridge and retired upon the birth of her son in 1983.
In her younger years, Gin loved playing tennis and golf and never could understand why her husband thought golf was such a tough game. In later years she became an avid bridge player and played with groups in Lakewood and Wheat Ridge. She was a big believer in never having a card hand with short suits or cards without faces.
Gin has surviving sisters, Rosalie Thun (Bruce) from Graham, WA, Beverly Duffy (Kevin) from Redmond,WA and a sister Joyce Albert of Williston, North Dakota. Her son Kyle and daughter-in-law Yun live in Broomfield, and her husband Richard continues to live at their longtime home in Lakewood with their 15 year old pet Jack Russell, Missy.
There will be a small gathering of those close to Ginny in the near future. Richard will send out information when it becomes available.
